The St. John’s Lutheran Choir sings twice a month at the 10:45 traditional service from September through May. There are occasional special performances during the Advent and Lent seasons. We rehearse weekly from 7-8:30pm on Wednesday evenings (or Thursdays during Advent and Lent, due to the Wednesday evening services during those times). Music styles include everything. Current ages are from 21 to retired, but any age can join as long as they have a love of singing! Some people read music, some people don't - it's the passion for praising God through singing that counts. All are welcome to join! Above all, we're a community of people who love to sing, and it's unusual if a rehearsal doesn't have to stop for a good belly laugh at least once each week. Come join us! We'd love to have you!
For those who prefer a more contemporary/casual style of worship, we have our 8:30 Sunday morning service known as the Well. Worship is lead by the Well band, made up of congregational members and friends, who serve with their talent for musical instruments and voice.
St. John's Lutheran School children from the kindergarten through the fifth grade participated in the Angel Choir, singing at St. John's Drive-Through Live Nativity in mid-December. Rehearsals were held after school on Wednesdays during November and December from 3:00-3:30. Even with a short rehearsal time, the children continued their musical education in following a conductor, learning songs by heart, learning performance etiquette, and above all, learning to love singing and making music to the glory of God!
Midweek Chapel services are an excellent time to take time out of the morning for worship and song. Teachers Tom Baldwin, Jessica Shea, Stephanie Guelzow and Principal Dr. David Wells lead the school in worship through music, blending the traditional favorites with more contemporary "right off the radio" Christian praise songs. Each class also has the opportunity to lead the school in "Chapel" at least once per year.
School Spring Musical
Spring is a good time of year - the weather is getting warmer, things outside are blooming... and in the St. John's Lutheran middle school grades, it's spring musical time! Each year, willing 6th, 7th, and 8th graders go through auditions and months of rehearsals to prepare a musical theater spectacular in the spring. There's singing and dancing, acting and stagehands, and so much more! This year's production will be Godspell (Jr.). Productions from years past include Disney Beauty and the Beast (Jr.), Annie (Jr.), Disney's The Jungle Book, The Pirates of Penzance, and Seussical. Stephanie Guelzow is our very talented and experienced director.
Ignite - Christian Concert

The concert featured a former American Idol performer Katelyn Marks Drye and her husband Derek Drye, Awestruck Worship, Vital Cadence, former St. John's student - Meredith Macy, The Inner Rhythm performers and the St. John's Well singers (the "Dog Pound"). WBFJ was on location and this exciting event was broadcast live as well.
